The Recognizer® ULTRA - A Truly Worthy Companion

Now, another of the Presentation Solutions’ suite of products has garnered national recognition. The Recognizer® ULTRA, a system which allows schools to create their own custom awards (plaques, medals & trophies), bulletin board cutouts and headers, parking tags, school signage, decals, and more, was just named a FINALIST for District Administration’s 2025 EdTech Product of the Year at the Future of Education Technology (FETC) national conference in Orlando in January.
The Recognizer® ULTRA is like a ‘Swiss-army knife’ for schools

The Recognizer ULTRA utilizes pre-created templates, which can be customized simply by clicking on a field and typing in what the school wants to say. The system contains over 1,000 editable templates, all geared toward schools, featuring school necessities such as awards, cutout shapes and letters, wall quotes, facility signage and labeling, parking tags, bumper stickers, backpack tags, decals, and much more.
One such item that the Recognizer® ULTRA produces is personalized awards. The system creates plaques, medals and trophies, each of which can feature the school’s name and logo, the student’s name, what they accomplished, and the date. The system is unique in that it both prints and cuts, so schools can create a rectangular plaque, a circular medal, a trapezoidal trophy plate, or a football-shaped decal, all on the same machine and with the same supply. Since it creates these items instantly, a teacher or administrator could observe a student doing something good, and present them with a personalized plaque, medal or trophy, just minutes after observing the outstanding behavior. Furthermore, a 6” x 8” personalized award plaque costs only around $6… including the wooden plaque itself!
Cutout shapes and letters are found on nearly every bulletin board in nearly every school in the country. The Recognizer® ULTRA can instantly produce these cutout shapes and letters… even entire words and sentences, up to 4” tall and 7’ long… simply by typing in what you want to say and clicking PRINT. The system contains more than 300 scalable fonts (and you can add more), and over 400 cutout shapes and figures. Most impressive are the system’s “enhanced” cutouts, which feature printed detail on the actual cutout shape. For example, most people can recognize a cutout of George Washington or Abraham Lincoln by their distinct silhouettes… but would you recognize a cutout of Rosa Parks? With the Recognizer® ULTRA printing all of her facial detail on her cutout shape… you would! The system also has cutouts of each state, with the capital of each marked with a star and the capital’s name. What’s really cool is that a teacher could move the star which marks the capital to anywhere within the state, and modify the name of the capital to the name of the school, teaching students exactly where their school is located within the state… all on a self-adhesive cutout. Schools can even produce motivational wall quotes, which look like they are “painted” on the walls, thanks to the Recognizer® ULTRA’s self-adhesive glossy vinyl.
For the Media Center and around the school, the Recognizer® ULTRA has templates for all types of labeling and signage… from bookshelves, to computers and carts, to directional signage. A very popular signage template identifies the classroom number, teacher’s name, and what subject they teach… complete with the school’s logo. The system even features directional arrows, with the name of what the arrow is pointing to inside it! Perhaps the most-popular instructional signage template is for the school’s stairwells, where schools can put long labels on each step, highlighting character words and phrases, multiplication tables, motivational sayings, or anything else a school wants to instill in its student body.
CTE programs also make great use of the Recognizer® ULTRA, whether in school stores or in CTE/Business classes. The Recognizer® has a multitude of templates for fundraising, and the CTE/Business classes often start their own “company” within the class, creating and marketing the Recognizer’s® output. Examples include car decals, backpack tags, locker decals, cell phone stickers, parking tags, bumper stickers, and much more. CTE programs will even produce all of the school’s awards, which the school will buy from them! In a truly win-win scenario, the school pays much less than they would if they used a trophy shop, the CTE Program’s “business” earns money, and all of the school’s money stays within the school. In addition, students are learning first-hand the principles of entrepreneurship, accounting, production, sales and marketing, and even graphic design skills… and they’re having fun in the process.
While the Recognizer® ULTRA is the companion system to the ColorPro ULTRA 2 Poster Maker, a school does not need to own the ColorPro ULTRA 2 to fully utilize the Recognizer® ULTRA. Presentation Solutions® describes the two systems as interdependent – they can each be used to their fullest extent by themselves, but they also function extremely well in tandem with each other, because they each create different things. Because of this,
if a school does not have the funds to purchase everything at once, they can purchase one system one year and the other system the following year.
